Sharon Warmington

Founder, School Governor and Corporate Governance Practitioner

Being a specialist in corporate and school governance and holding a degree in Leadership for Change and Growth, Sharon is a results driven and highly sought after, global executive coach and motivational speaker. Sharon is also a strategic leadership consultant, with a strong focus on gender and cultural diversity in non-profit, private and public boardrooms.

Sharon is Director of Education Governance Solutions Ltd and Unstoppable Ltd and whilst she is still a Governor now, she has previously served as a Governor at Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls for 7 years and as Vice Chair of an Interim Executive Board (IEB) where she assisted in bringing a local primary school out of Special Measures. Sharon was appointed directly by the Department of Education due to her expertise and specialist knowledge in school governance.

As an accredited and advanced governance practitioner, Sharon puts; Chairs, Head Teachers and their Business Managers through the bespoke Governance Assessment Process (GAP) developed by the governance forum. For four consecutive years, Sharon was an international mentor for the University of Cambridge and worked with the winners of the Queen’s Young Leaders International Programme, developing future leaders across the globe. Sharon is a Member of the Birmingham Diocese Board of Education and the DfE's National Advisory Group on Governance.

Sonia Thompson

Head Teacher, St Matthew's Church of England Primary School

Sonia is a relatively new Head Teacher following a 9 year journey as Deputy Head. She now engages regionally and nationally as part of her role in running the Research School and Teaching School also housed at St Matthew's. Sonia is a specialist Leader for Education and Talk for Writing Lead Trainer.

Shola Afuape MBE

Sola is an experienced strategic advisor with expertise in public sector strategy, policy development and operational delivery at national, regional and local level. Sola's skills and knowledge extend to; excellent interpersonal skills and Board level competencies in strategy, risk, governance, workforce and organisational development, quality improvements and innovation, business development and equalities.

Everton Burke OBE

Chair of Corporation, Burton and South Derbyshire College

Everton was Co-Director of an alternative education provision in Birmingham. Teaching ESOL plus supporting subjects to students in Years 10 and 11 who were unable to obtain places in mainstream schools due to their English language needs.
