Woman Gives Birth to Twins on Two Different Highways
A woman gave birth to twins on two different New York highways, Southern State Parkway and Wantagh State Parkway, on Saturday morning.
Siobhan Anderson was en-route to the hospital when her twins decided that they couldn’t wait to be born. She would then give birth to them on two separate highways, as she attempted to get to the Nassau University Medical Center.
Mrs. Anderson is now a mother-of-three and can rest, after the hectic ordeal she had to go through to deliver her twin boys – Gavin and Declan.
The event panned out in many phases after Siobhan’s water broke. It had occurred a week earlier than expected, so her husband, Bryan, rushed her towards the hospital. On the way, she told her husband that he had to phone for an ambulance, instead of trying to get her there himself.
Siobhan ordered to Bryan pull over on the Southern State Parkway, shouting: “The babies are coming,” as he alerted the hospital. Paramedics were there in an instant and were there to ensure that the first birth went to plan. “He was born at 7:35 in the open air,” Siobhan said, as she explained Gavin’s birth.
By this time, she was in the care of the paramedics in their ambulance, but it wouldn’t mean that the action was over. They had anticipated that they’d have enough time to deliver her second twin, but Declan decided that the Wantagh State Parkway would be his birthplace. He arrived just ten minutes after his brother had.
The family have gone on to say that they are even planning on giving the boys nicknames already, with “Southie” and “W-3” being put forward as suggestions.
