A three-year-old is being heralded for his heroism, after saving his aunt, after she suffered from a life-threatening seizure.

Tyrone Copeland Jr. of Delaware was out at a local park playing with his aunt Deneene when she lost consciousness. Acting on impulse, Tyrone leapt into action, alerting those nearby to call for the emergency services.

Paula Thomas was the recipient of Tyrone’s pleas on Friday afternoon. “He said she wasn’t moving,” Paula explained to WPVI-TV. The youngster had informed her that his aunt was “laying there and she’s had a seizure and her mouth was closed.” She then promptly ran to her assistance.

A spokesperson from the local Wilmington Police Department commented on Tyrone’s excellent communication.“This is something that a 3-year-old is saying,” Office Mike Ivey said.

Ms. Thomas shared the sentiment, saying: “He is just amazing because he knew his name, he knew his address, and he told us concisely what was wrong and where to go.”

Deneene later recovered, after being taken to a hospital in the area. She was discharged later in the day, after being treated.

The toddler’s father, Tyrone Copeland Sr. was amazed when he heard the news too. He said: “I didn’t even know he was able to do that,” when asked of his child’s quick-thinking response to the situation.
